NEO NEGOTIATOR is compatible with all OREA narrow-bottomed filter cups . It can be used with V2, V3, V3 MK2, V4 Narrow, O1, glass filter cups, and ceramic filter cups. Please note that some filter cups are handmade, and the internal structure of the bottom of some filter cups is slightly different, so there may be some tiny gaps inside. That's okay! Simply add a small amount of water after the initial fold to perfectly position the filter paper.

Heat resistant

Safe for use in boiling water – this is the feature users desire most. We have been hesitant to use 3D printing to achieve this because we don't trust the food safety of 3D-printed materials at high temperatures (these materials haven't been certified or tested in practical applications). This is also one of the reasons we've never launched any heat-resistant 3D-printed products. Injection molding ensures long-term heat resistance and allows us to use high-quality materials to achieve perfect injection molding results.

Fast flow

NEO NEGOTIATOR's design philosophy is consistent with our renowned filter cups—rapid flow rates allow the filter paper to be quickly soaked. Simply wet the filter paper, twist it, and a perfect fit is easily achieved.

What are we collaborating on?

If you're new to OREA or unfamiliar with the concept of a "Negotiator," we'll explain it in a simple and easy-to-understand way. It's a simple tool that helps you adjust almost any type of filter paper (preferably flat paper) to fit the shape of the OREA filter cup's inner wall. It helps you shape the filter paper to create a low-bypass brewing environment, allowing the filter paper to perfectly conform to the inside of the espresso machine, forcing water to flow through the coffee grounds rather than around the filter paper.

Higher extraction rate

By minimizing bypasses, you can always achieve higher extraction rates within a similar brewing time. Bypasses can cause blockages, slowing down the brewing process. Minimizing bypasses ensures a richer, brighter extraction within a similar brewing time.

More consistent

Side-pass filtration is unstable, resulting in inconsistent filtration quality each time. Using the Negotiator with flat filter paper in an OREA flat-bottomed coffee dripper minimizes side-pass filtration, ensuring more consistent coffee quality with each brew.

THE TULIP 🌷 – A folding tool

Initially, we opened it to the outside world. When we first created the "Negotiator" documentation, we envisioned other product managers joining the project and developing various excellent tools around it. Unfortunately, the result was that others simply copied the tool instead of contributing to the ecosystem. Nevertheless, we didn't stop releasing the documentation but continued developing new versions. Four years later, we received our first contribution that inspired the "TULIP" tool—an origami guide created by Lin from GX Taiwan. We drew inspiration from these ideas to create the "TULIP" tool.

If using

The experience is a bit magical because you probably wouldn't expect it to work so well. But it really does work—every single time.

1. Place the flat filter paper on top of the tulip, making sure it is centered.

2. Simply press down on the TULIP with the NEGOTIATOR.

At this point, you will see that a perfect quadrilateral has been formed, which can serve as a perfect guide for folding paper.

3. Fold the protruding four sides onto the walls of the TULIP petals.

4. After folding the paper flat, place the paper and... Pull out NEGOTIATOR together.

5. Place the paper in the filter cup, then use... Press NEGOTIATOR down.

6. Pour some water onto the paper to moisten it and let it sit.

7. Gently rotate NEGOTIATOR and remove it from the filter cup - leaving a perfectly folded filter paper inside the filter cup.

Now it's time to start brewing! Even cooler, Tulip also serves as a beautiful stand for the Negotiator, and it's a fun stress-relieving toy in itself, as you can place the Negotiator inside and spin it. If you've ever struggled with folding filter paper, we think this is a great accessory. Although we've listed 7 steps to explain how to use it, the entire setup process actually only takes 5-10 seconds. Press - Fold - Remove - Insert - Pre-wet ✅

Tulip is compatible with all of OEA's narrow Negotiator models, including the older V3 Negotiator, the 3D-printed V4 Negotiator, and the new NEO Negotiator.
