Takesi Java

High in the Bolivian Andes, Finca Takesi continues to redefine what is possible in coffee. Over the past eight years, we've built a close partnership with Mariana Iturralde and her team, returning harvest after harvest to celebrate the incredible work taking place on one of the world's most extraordinary coffee farms. Today, Monogram remains the only Canadian roaster, and one of just six worldwide, with access to these remarkable coffees.

Growing coffee at the highest coffee farm in the world requires remarkable patience and dedication. The cool mountain climate slows cherry development, allowing sugars and delicate aromatics to develop over an extended season, while the steep landscape makes every harvest a true labour of love. It's this combination of extraordinary terroir and meticulous farming that makes Takesi so special.

Java is prized for its elegant floral aromatics, refined sweetness, and exceptional cup quality. Believed to trace its lineage to Ethiopian landrace varieties, it has become one of specialty coffee's most exciting cultivars. At Takesi, it develops beautiful clarity and balance, resulting in a coffee that is delicate and expressive.
