Every year, the Takesi harvest reminds us why our relationship with Mariana Iturralde means so much. For the past eight years, we've worked closely with her and the Agro Takesi team, watching them continue to push the boundaries of quality while farming coffee in one of the world's most challenging environments. We're proud to be the only Canadian roaster, and one of just six globally, with access to these exceptional coffees.
The legendary Finca Takesi sits high in the Bolivian Andes, where dramatic landscapes and extreme growing conditions shape every harvest. Coffee cherries mature slowly in the cool mountain air, developing remarkable sweetness and complexity, while every stage of farming and processing demands extraordinary care. Mariana is an expert at using this terroir to produce a collection of coffees unlike any other.
This lot is a unique peaberry Java variety. Peaberries represent only a small percentage of every harvest, creating an especially unique expression of an already exceptional variety. The cup is layered with delicate florals, tea-like complexity, and a clean finish.
