Familiar design, larger capacity
The OREA BREWER O2, also known as the BIG BABY O, is a one-piece flat-bottom dripper designed specifically for brewing the perfect cup of coffee for 1-2 people.
Why we made this
The OREA O1 dripper has many fans all over the world - and rightly so. It is consistent, brews delicious coffee, fits in your pocket, and is incredibly cute. Since the launch of the O1, many have requested a larger version from OREA because they prefer larger cups of coffee, or because they are brewing for two (couples, roommates, parents, or at the office). Over the past 1.5 years, we have also been working on developing immersion-style options, which typically require a dripper capable of holding a larger volume of water at once.
Soft and sweet pink
In the past, OREA rarely made drippers in multiple colors, usually opting for black, clear, or white. But everyone has a soft spot for pink, especially this shade—soft, sweet, and floral, just like the flavor profile of every great cup of coffee. Everyone loved this color so much that we decided to keep it as a core colorway. It carries a special charm that brings a little joy to everyday life.
This special edition color debuted in Taipei in 2025 as the O1 dripper—it reminds us of the gentleness and warmth shown by everyone we met in Taipei. From exquisite Taiwanese Geisha coffee to the local culture, Taiwan has a unique sweetness, and this color will forever connect everyone to this special place.
Impeccable construction
Finding the right manufacturer who truly cares about quality and detail takes time. In fact, it took OREA nearly 5 years. The attention to mold design, polishing, and the details of the injection molding process itself resulted in this perfect object, free of injection marks or ripples. It is the highest-quality plastic dripper in the industry - bar none. We dare you to compare this to anything else produced by anyone else. Made from a single piece of 100% food-safe, BPA-free Tritan plastic. Carefully manufactured and polished to perfection in a family-run boutique plastic factory. The O1 set the standard for how a plastic dripper should look, and the O2 does the same, just with more volume.
Quality materials
There are some "open secrets" in the industry regarding many companies making "cheap drippers" using the wrong plastic labels. In fact, many drippers labeled as TRITAN are not—they use lower-grade PCTG material. This material has lower impact resistance, lower optical clarity, and a completely different feel. OREA uses genuine Eastman Tritan material from the USA. Using real, high-quality materials is important (even if it's more expensive) because we know this material is safe at high temperatures and achieves the intended durability. This material, originally manufactured in the USA, has been used for years by reputable companies like Nalgene for their water bottles.
One-piece construction
The OREA Brewer O2 is a clean, one-piece work of art. Simple, lightweight, and very compact - with no moving parts. If you like a dripper that is zero-fuss, easy to clean, simple, and flexible, this one is perfect for you.
The original open-bottom
For years, OREA's original "OPEN" bottom design has been used in OREA's glass, ceramic, V4, and O1 drippers. The open bottom provides a rim for the flat filter paper, designed to find the perfect balance between support and space. The filter paper naturally sags in the middle, encouraging the water to flow more centrally through the coffee bed. With this style of dripper, we discovered the most unique acidity profiles; it creates a flow pattern closer to a cone in a shallower flat-bottom bed. This delivers a candy-like acidity without sacrificing balance, sweetness, or body. It is a masterpiece that has been widely imitated but never replicated.
Ultimate consistency
This design has been praised for years by customers for its consistency in every brew. To some extent, this is our most "hands-off" design, letting gravity decide how the water flows and how the bed performs. We love this inherent simplicity and the stability it brings.
The brewed flavor profile sits between that of a cone dripper and a traditional flat-bottom dripper. The acidity is brighter and cleaner, yet very balanced. Compared to OREA's other flat-bottom drippers, this base produces a lighter, more tea-like mouthfeel, which many people praise. If you are looking for a fuller-bodied coffee, we recommend the OREA Z1 dripper.
Expandability
With the release of the O2 comes new accessories—such as our unique Regulators. These plug-and-play silicone bases completely change the dripper's flow pattern and flavor profile. One series explores contact time, while the other explores immersion (or hybrid brewing), and they are compatible with Hario Switch bases. In a sense, the O2 is our simplest dripper, but by using accessories, it perhaps offers the most brewing methods and styles in a single dripper.
Comparison between O1 and O2
These two products are identical in the following aspects: hole size, geometry, wall thickness, and material. The only difference is the height of the brewing chamber, which affects overall capacity and filter paper compatibility. The O2 is a taller device with more room for more coffee grounds and water. The O1 is designed for single-serve brewing, while the O2 has a larger capacity. For single-serve brewing, we recommend the O1 because of its moderate size, allowing you to get your kettle spout closer to the coffee bed. If you frequently brew for two, or are used to using more than 18g of coffee grounds each time, we recommend the O2.
Brewing options
The O2 is more flexible, so you can brew in various ways and use different types of filter paper.
-
WAVE (Cake filters): WAVE filters are simple, fast, and very easy to obtain all over the world. They allow for more bypass and airflow, creating a narrower coffee bed. Generally, with the same parameters, they produce coffee with lower concentration. Many people love their ease of use, plug-and-play nature, and fast brew times. The O2 is compatible with traditional WAVE 185 size filters or OREA WAVE 185.
-
FLAT (Flat filters): Flat filters are fun, delicious, and provide a higher quality of extraction by reducing bypass and creating a wider, shallower bed in the dripper. Many people love that they help create juicy, sweet, and full-bodied coffee because they ensure more water passes through the coffee grounds rather than around them. The O2 is compatible with OREA FLAT 185 / SIBARIST OREA M / SIBARIST MARTIN WÖLFL.
-
Experimental spirit: There is no single "right answer" for which filter to use. It depends on what you value! We will continue to explore and support various brewing styles for flat-bottom drippers. We love seeing people truly try many (and sometimes strange) methods. This aligns with the OREA spirit - we want you to never stop exploring.
Supply chain choices
OREA manufactures the O2 in Taiwan with a family-run boutique plastic manufacturer. They treat their workers well and fairly, and do their best to source everything locally in Taiwan. They treat their products with special care and respect. We know the pricing we give you (or the pricing they give us) will never be the lowest - if you are looking for the lowest price, you can buy from other companies. We focus on quality and reinvest value back into the supply chain - supporting those who do business the right way. OREA visits this factory 3-4 times a year, interacting with their team at their facility to ensure that OREA can continue to bring you the highest quality products.
